Ivar Blomberg - Sweden

Ivar Blomberg was born in 1860 in Sweden. I believe he was born in Norrkoping, Ostergotland. He was a sailor and married in Barrow in Furness in 1891 to Mary Ratcliffe, they then lived in South Shields where Ivar died in 1919.
His father was called Pehr and was a mechanic. Ivar was shown on the 1911 census as Per Ivar Blomberg.
I have been unable to find any details of his birth or emigration and also no success in finding his parents.

Any help in finding his birth and parents would be really appreciated.

Have access to Arkivdigital & had a look for him yesterday in 1860-births with no luck so far.

Norrkøping is a city with several parishes and hence an awful lot of pages to browse.

Have you got any more specific information? Siblings?

Are you sure year of birth is 1860? Could it be +-/a year or two off we are struggeling....

Hi Jan,

It is really good of you to help with this and the reason for your difficulty in finding him can be explained by the  following additional information I have just been given:

He is on the index 1880 Swedish Census CD. However, he had left without registering out of the parish and he was listed on a page for the "nonexistent".
Per Ivar Blomberg was born on 11 Nov 1859 and baptised 20 Nov in Hedvig Parish, Norrkoping. Father was Johan Peter Blomberg and mother Carolina Persdotter.

Any information on his parents birth/marriage etc and any siblings would be greatly appreciated.

Found the record, it is however very, very faded.

What I've been able to work out for sure so far is that your Per Ivar had a sister Carolina Ulrika, born 17/1-1858, baptised 10/2-1858.

The fact that he had a sister is great news as we had no previous knowledge of Per Ivar Blomberg having any siblings.

With a little help I've managed to decipher the parent's details to this:
