ALLAN lookup please

Trying to locate any information on "Herbert Allan" who had some connection to Allans music in Victoria,Aust.He was my step grandfather.I have Also tried to find his old address in Mount Eliza without success.
I remember going to this very grand house when I was very young and would dearly love to visit "or even google earth" the address again, and/or get any information on his family or details of the marriage to my Grandmother Gladys Christine Kent (nee Hooton). Herbert and Gladys would have been married in Victoria sometime after 1935 and prior to 1965.

Any help no matter how small will be a great help,Many thanks to all.

Gladys Christine and Herbert Alfred ALLEN living at 59  Panoramic Rd Baldwyn

(had another look it should be Balwyn)

No, I live in Sydney, dont know anything about Victoria suburbs but I have just been looking at this site

and on their "search" there are a Herbert Alfred and Gladys Christine Allen

I read Enquiries on Rootschat and have picked up a few clues and have a go at trying to help out, have you looked at TROVE ? maybe there are clues there that you could follow up,

The suburb would be Balwyn North, I think (there is a street view on Googlemap).  It was reasonably common for people to have holiday houses on the Mornington peninsula so perhaps the Balwyn address was their permanent residence.

I have been doing some work on obituaries and come across these but just at present I can't tie them directly to Herbert. The  ALLAN family is spelt slightly differently to the records found above. (ALLEN)

Didn't know any of that so it all ads to the picture, thank you so much.Just spoke to a family member who said that as well as this house in Balwyn they also owned the "elusive one" in Mt Eliza but unfortunately could not remember where it was.
Maybe if I contacted the Mornington shire they might have some old records..

Thanks all so very much, I will delve into the web pages supplied by you all and see how I go.However just thought I would mention that the property in Mt Eliza was more than a holiday house, it was one of many he owned and
these premises were on many acres and had a full time gatekeeper living in a cottage at the front gates.

As to Herbert & Gladys' marriage narrowed down the time frame.

Gladys Christine Kent was living at 226 Dandenong Rd, St Kilda between 1943 and 1954. Her occupation was listed as Traveller!

Are you sure the house in Mt Eliza belonged to the Allen's?
