Oh dear, what have I started. FARNWORTH is within the metropolitan borough of Bolton.

No worries - but you need to check 1911 to find your people. They obviously had no family ties with Lancashire  ;)

it's not that long ago that I found out about the other one - only ever knew about Bolton. I was looking for someone on rootschat (naturally  ;D) and thought it must be wrong!

it's a pity to put it to bed when you have just started on these chaps - did you only want to know if they stayed in Lancs?
