Marianne Bartlett Bowie - Bloemfontein SA

My grandmother Marianne Bowie nee Bartlett  died in Bloemfontein in 1928 and I presume she's buried in the Church of England section of the old Bloemfontein Cemetary.  Her husband was Ritchie Taylor Bowie and her son was Norman James Bowie (my father).  I believe Marianne also had a daughter.  Would love to know her name as well as any other relatives she might have had.

Hi I found a document in this archive when I typed in the name. Try this link. http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm200gi.

Then click on the RSA repository box, when it opens type in Bowie Marianne and enter. A list of 1 documents will appear, just click on Result Summary. The Genealogical Society of South Africa has a "pay to use" service which will enable you to obtain pictures of documents held in the National Archives.

Go to http://www.eggsa.org and select Content --> On Line Shop --> order Archive documents.  Once you have selected the currency, select "Enter the Shop" and then select "Archive photos" (in yellow on the blue band) and follow the instructions.

Much quicker than trying to get the Archives to reply to your e-mail requests!!  Good luck Derek.

Marianne died 16/9/1928 aged 34 in the Sister Kirkpatick's Nursing Home in Cromwell str, Bloemfontein. Her children are
Norman James b 25/3/1918 and Margaret Ellen b 3/6/1921 and each inherited £40.10.0. In life she stayed at 1 Vels Str, Bloemfontein and her husband was a Coach builder. Parents are John Henry Bartlett and Martha Magdalena nee Bayly. ( extracted from her death notice)

A friend of mine works in the offices of the Anglican Cathedral   I will ask him to look up and see what he can find for us.  He found my Dad's baptism cert and I thought we were Methodists through and through
