hi elaine my father was robert semple born 4 june 1938 johnstone
his father was william urquhart semple. i go back to 1871 with david semple who married a christina ferguson .that is a s far a s i  am at the moment   thankyou julie

christina aged 31
john aged8
jane aged 6
alexander aged 4 months

i cant seem to find connection to the ferguson side  only that david married a christina ferguson

on family search there is only one birth for a Christina Ferguson born
in Dumfries (place of birth on census)
she has the middle name Stewart
Parents
William Ferguson and May Johnston
have you managed to find a copy of David and Christina's marriage cert
that would confirm if this is the right one.
also on family search
David and Christina's marriage took place in
Eastwood Renfrew on
18th November 1867
it is an extracted record which means you will be able to get the cert from
Scotlands People site.
