HICKS family in Burford / Westwell / Compton Abdale

I'm hoping some kind soul can assist me with my research into a HICKS family in Oxfordshire.  So far I have Thomas HICKS (born 1842, Burford) marrying Mary SHEPHERD (born c1845, Pinnock) in 1865 in Great Barrington.  I don't currently have a date of death for Thomas (he is on the 1901 census in Shipton, can't be sure of him on the 1911 census).  I don't have a birth date for Mary (her parents were William and Mary (nee WILLIAMS)).  Thomas and Mary were my great-great-grandparents.

As far as I know Thomas and Mary had (at least) 5 children:

Percy (born c1866 (reg Q1 Witney), Burford (according to census))
Walter (born c1870 (reg Q1 Malmsbury), Milbourne (according to census))
George (born 31 Dec 1871, Hampen, Compton Abdale, my great-grandfather)
Ernest Tom (born c1874 (reg Q1 Northleach), Bibury (according to census))
Mary Jane (born 1880 (reg Q2, Witney), Filkins (according to census))

I lose track of Percy and Walter after the 1881 census when the whole family is together in  Filkins.  I also lose track of Mary Jane at the same stage.  Thomas was a coachman and seems to have moved around quite a lot!

I would be very grateful for any help.

I see from the birth reg that Percy is actually Percy W Hicks

I would say that on 1891 he is at
RG12 2036 33 2

A 25 yr old boarder in Gloucestershire, Percy W Hicks, a groom, place of birth 'unknown'

Walter is at RG12 2335 103 24

a 22 yr old servant - looks like the 'boot boy' in a big house in Evesham, Worcs

We are on a wrong track!

The marriage of William Percy Hicks to Eliza Cross  both of Royley Rd, is 7 Dec 1898 at Finsbury St Barnabas

And it shows his Dad to be Walter Hicks a Stonemason

so NOT 'our' Percy whose dad was Thomas a coachamn

Thanks Liz.  Yes I should have said Percy W HICKS (my excuse - I did have a drink with lunch!).

Age is spot on, occupation quite likely (following his Dad), Percy is quite an unusual name for the time.
