On the marriage certificate for Sophie and George it shows his father as being deceased (Alfred John Mills) possibly died 1903 his mother being Maria McNamara died in 1929.

George MILLS born 1885 Sandhurst/Sandridge Victoria to Alfred John MILLS and Marla (Maria?) McNAMARA regn #13505.

1903 electoral roll has Alfred John, Maria and Kate MILLS at Lucan St, Bendigo. Alfred was a cooper.

1909 shows Maria, Arthur Thomas, George, Kate and Mary still at Lucan St.

1914 shows Maria and Kate at 30 Lucan St.

1919 and 1924 shows as above but also Arthur Thomas and Mary next door at 28.

There was a birth for Alfred John MILLS 1863 at Sandhurst reg #10516 to Alfred John MILLS and Honora MULCARE. They married 1858 reg #1981.
Honora Agnes MILLS nee MULCARE died 1874 Victoria reg #2943.

Have you purchased John's d/c as it might give details for any children.
SandraAust

A 1963 death cert in SA will only detail
    Date and Place of Death
    Name
    Sex
    Age
    Occupation
    Usual Residence
    Birthplace
    Length of Residence in Commonwealth
    Age at Marriage
Number of Issue Living and Deceased
    Cause of Death
    Place of Death
    Informant
    Place of Burial

You have John's date of death in Adelaide so I suggest you contact the State Library of SA for any death notices that may have been in the Advertiser   You have his cremation record and MI.

Hi Cando,

Thank you for the message but I am only replying and providing any information I find for the original query which was placed by heneggs so any additional information should probably be sent to her.

Best wishes,
Sandra

Sandra that isn't the way rootschat works.  I am not particularly messaging you.   I am also replying to her original query and I am not sending you a message.  I quoted your post in which you suggested that the John's death certificate might give details for her children....I responded with the information that would be available on a 1963 certificate.

I have also suggested that the OP contact the state library.  I can see no reason for pm'ing this information.  Any forum member is welcome to join in the search and help the OP.  It is far better to keep all information on the board.  It makes it difficult for other members who are interested and my wish to participate and may possible cause duplicate searching.

Cheers
Cando
