Hello, Craig and whoever else is interested.
I think you will find that Edmund Nelson, born around 1610, (but it is not yet clear in which Parish), was married three times. When he married Joanna Griffin on 12th April 1635 he was already a widower. By his first marriage he had a son, Edmund, baptised 29.11.1629.
With Joanna he had two daughters, Joanna bap. 29.6.1636 and Anne, bap. 25.5.1637 in Wendling. Anne was buried 28.8.1637.
Edmund married thirdly Alice but there were no marriage records kept in Wendling during the Commonwealth 1648 - 1660. With Alice he had Bridget, bap. 24.2.1652, William bap. 24.3.1654 (my ancestor) and John bap 2.2.1656 all in Wendling.
I have all this information because I have spent hours going through the records in the Archive Centre in Norwich.
Whatever the History books might say, Edmund was not the son of Thomas of Lynn nor did he have any connection with London or Lancashire. This was all fabricated and I am in the process of finding out his true ancestry. I have proof of all of this. I want you to know this as I am tired of all the misinformation and speculation that is going around and would like to set the record straight. Officially, too, of course.
If you would like to reply, Craig, I would be happy to share with you. Are we related?
Yours, Chula
