JOHN EVANS - MARRIAGE
« on: Monday 07 November 11 21:02 GMT (UK) »
I have established from the marriage certificate for my 2x great grandfather, Thomas Evans, that his father was John Evans.

Thomas was born in Burton, Pembrokeshire c1816.  I have found several baptismal records for Thomas Evans, one of which may be appropriate.

On each, the father is listed as John Evans, but the mother could be either Mary, Elizabeth or Martha.

I am therefore seeking details of marriages during the period of say 1806-1816 between :

John Evans and Mary ?
John Evans and Elizabeth ?
John Evans and Martha ?

In all probability the marriage would have taken place in the Rhos Hundred, somewhere in the triangle bordered by Haverfordwest in the North, Llanstadwell in the South west and Burton in the South east.

All information gratefully appreciated.

Looking at the Parish Registers there is no Thomas Evans baptised at Burton. There is a Thomas Evans baptised at Hubberston (just as lightly as Llanstadwell) in 1813 and another Thomas Evans baptised at Rosemarket in 1820.
The only 1816 baptism of a Thomas Evans is at Haverfordwest St Mary.

Again from the Parish Registers a John Evans mrd an Elizabeth Harries at Burton in 1792, otherwise there are just too many mrge's in the surrounding parishes.

Thanks Oriel.

I have a baptism at Saint Martin Tabernacle, Haverfordwest on 17 Nov.1816, parents John Evans and Elizabeth.

Also a baptism at Saint Mary, Haverfordwest on 13 April 1817 for a George Thomas Evans, parents John Evans and Mary.
