Farming Accident - Baker 1948
« on: Monday 07 November 11 19:57 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the family tree of a friend.  Her great grandfather, William Baker or perhaps William Griffiths died in a Farming accident in August 1948 and is buried in Kingsland Parish church.  He was working for a contractor called Bengry and had an accident with a Hay bailer.  Has anyone heard of this accident or know where I could find further information or copies of the newspapers reporting it?

Thanks

If the accident was reported, I would guess that it would be in the Hereford Times.  Both Hereford Library and Hereford Archives have copies of the Hereford Times, but Hereford Archives will be your better bet if you need someone to research it for you.

Have a look here - it's the webpage for Hereford Library, but it also has contact details for Hereford Archives http://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/leisure/libraries/36967.asp
