I am the grandson of John Tierney (b: Coatbridge 1906) who I suspect is the brother of your grandfather (other bros: William, Patrick & Thomas).  I have just started researching Tierney line and would love to share what I have so far and to discuss the Australian puzzle!

I don't know if we have ancestors in common.  My 3x G.grandfather, Robert Tierney (b.1870 Greenock) had brothers William (b.1877 Paisley) & Patrick (b.1878 Paisley).  Their parents were William & Bridget (nee McMahon).

If this is your family, I would be interested in swapping information.
