Thomas Family, Llandudno
« on: Sunday 06 November 11 11:21 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to find out more about William Thomas, who was deacon of the Tabernacle Baptist Chapel in Llandudno, and one of its founders. His widow, Elizabeth, appears on the 1841 census with five children- though we don't know when she or her husband died. Of their children only James (our ancestor) and Hugh can be traced. William, born around 1823, his sister Elizabeth, perhaps a couple of years younger, and a sister Jane born c. 1832, we know nothing about.

I'd be very grateful for any assistance provided on these, especially the parents.
thanks,

Daniel

Hello scrabblerDMT,

I have been looking at this for a few days and with little success in making progress.

What information do you have to indicate that Elizabeth Thomas is the widow of William in 1841? In view of his occupation, I did wonder whether he might be elsewhere at the time the census was taken.

What details do you hold on James and Hugh, the children you have traced? Where were they baptised?

The 1841 gives little concrete information on them, other than they were all born in the same county, Caernarfonshire.

I think a post on a site local to Llandudno might yield some results. There are some people on there who can access information as Directories and the local archives. The site is:

The Genealogy Board would be the best to post it on.

Llandudno was a very small place in those days and the population was tiny. I think you should be able to get more details.
