I found this:

January 20th, 1849

On Saturday an inquest was held by the borough coroner on Robert OWENS who died the previous day with injuries received in a fight with a young man Heatley CAMPBELL who is in custody on a jury verdict of manslaughter.

Thanks Adam - I had included that manslaughter report in my first post.  I still suspect that with a name like Heatley/Heatlie Campbell, there is a Heatley/Heatlie surname somewhere in his lineage.
