I see from James' obituary that James and Mary Sabiston had a daughter named Thelma. Do you know if Thelma was ever referred to as May as the obituary indicates her married surname was Fidler.

Her name is Edith Thelma Sabiston and she married a Murray Fidler in June 1942. Edith was William James sister....

I've sent you a PM about the emails I've sent with the obituaries and newspaper articles.

In case you don't have it, Thelma's obituary indicates she had a second husband named Wilfred Spence although they may have been in a common law marriage as her obituary used the Fidler surname for her.

Yes I have them and will go through them all and see what I have to work with. I never knew Thelma had a common-law and no one else ever mentioned it either so perhaps it was a hush hush.....unmarried in those days and all.

No he never had a sister Catherine..... he was the son of James William Sabiston and Mary McDonald.

The Lawrence that is mentioned is the son of Thomas Victor Sabiston and Lena Wosny. I have no information on a William with a sister Catherine who married a Shorting.....

Hi there Spanish Eyes! My name is Brianna and Lawrence Thomas John Sabiston, son of Thomas Victor Sabiston and Lena Wosny (Wasnie, as it's spelled on mine). Lawrence is my Grandfather. I don't know anything about him, but I do have his birthdate which is: 1940-11-16, Selkirk, MB and married a Helen Marjorie Avison.

Hi Brianna,

Thomas Victor Sabiston is the son of my Great Grandfather James William Sabiston and Mary Young-McDonald. Thomas would be my Grand Uncle and Lawrence Thomas John Sabiston would be my 1st Cousin-Once Removed.

I don't have any information on Lawrence except for what you have given me here except that Lawrence died in Winnipeg on 1994-05-17 and I can't remember where I got that info from.
