His parents from the latest census are Frederick W and Mary (E) so don't think the RFA would be correct

The casualty that Margp has found is in India (Kirkee) hes not on Soldiers Died In Great War
It could be Merchant Navy or Royal Naval Reserve or RNVR
If he was born 1899 he would just scrape into active service age unless he lied.

Thats the family I found too , they are also on the 1911 with extra siblings and Roland is age 11. He has no middle or other names shown on there.

170079 R Teasdale the lad you found is listed as Ralph on the Medal Index Cards.
Cant see any Rolands listed on RN Medal Rolls either???

I think that's Onslow Gardens, but it goes with the next person down on the list. 

Roland's address on the passenger list is 19 Whitby Street, North Shields.

Which is where he and his parents were living in 1901.
