Charles & Agnes PALMER

???  Charles Henry Palmer & Agnes Palmer  ???

Charles Henry Palmer was the youngest son of John Woolley Palmer & Lucy Palmer (nee Bennett)  ~  he was born on 17th March 1893 in Barrow In Furness in England.
The parents of Charles decided to move from Barrow In Furness in England to live in Ireland at the start of the 1900’s & they bought a farm in the Lower Maze area of Northern Ireland in County Down & several of their offspring moved out there with them.  Charles Henry Palmer didn’t go to Ireland with his family when they moved but did go there in later years.
It is known that he met & married to a lady named Agnes Palmer (same surname but no relation) when in Ireland although I do not know the details of their marriage & they lived in or around the Belfast area. I am aware that Charles & Agnes had a daughter but I know of no details of her name or where in Ireland & when she was born.
Charles took work on the ships leaving his wife Agnes & their daughter in Ireland & sadly he never did return to them.
When his mother died in 1936, the family solicitor contacted all of the family
members to make arrangements for them all to receive money from the estate & at this time Agnes Palmer was then living at 98 Millfield, Belfast. It is known that the solicitor was looking into the whereabouts of Charles who was either living in Canada or America.
These are the only facts that I know of about Charles Palmer, his wife Agnes & their unknown daughter but I would dearly like to learn more if possible.
If anyone else is looking into this Palmer family & can help me to learn more about them I would welcome contact please.
I know a great amount of information regarding the rest of the Palmer family both in England & Ireland but information of the life of Charles Henry Palmer has always eluded me.  Any help would be very much appreciated please.
Thank you.

Here's some of the family in 1911 census-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Down/Maze/Maze/250244

Probably daughter-in-law Rachel that's in the 1911 census with the family- "Palmer Rachel of Halftown Lower Maze county Down married woman died 14 March 1941 Probate Belfast 8 August to John Young Palmer farmer. Effects £194 15s." See www.proni.gov.uk
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I study the Palmers of Antrim mainly but I was interested in yours - I think we have corresponded before - my interest stems from the folowing extract - it may link your Palmers to those in Crumlin/Antrim town:

Notes of the Rev David Sloan Corkey

Mary Ferguson ( old Mary - Quarterland) To friends at Magheragall 30 11 21 - stroked out. Taken to friends Gill & Palmer near Maze station 09 02 22 - died there

Fergusons were witnesses on some of my Palmer births hence the interest but I couldnt find a link.  Found something on Sinclair Palmer at Maze in 1901 who married Mary Greer 1865.

Presumably they are likely to linked to your family.  It might be interesting to look at the Griffiths reevaluation books in PRONI for this which can go up to the 1920s  - maybe it will say something about land to your Palmers ?  Ownership of land around this date may be found in the Land Registry Office in Belfast.

By the way if you want to trace living relatives of Charles and Agnes you may need to go to the GRO in Belfast where you should pick up the marriage, deaths and the birth of Agnes and her possible death/marriage if they stayed in ireland.
