Paul, I'm back after checking out your link, it made fascinating reading. How strange you should mention the bayonet - we have just sold my dad's! It used to be on the wall at my grandmother's house, then my mother kept it under the bed for protection
after she was widowed in 1972. Now we're downsizing we're having to clear a lot of stuff, sadly.
Their special song was "You are my sunshine". They both sang it a lot when we were growing up.
Now I
definitely want those war records to fill in all the gaps!
