A few notes on the places in Belfast mentioned-

Shipbuoy Street- ran from Nelson St. to Little York St. (Shipbuoy St. still there but doesn't show on Google Streetview)

Stanley Lane- off Little York St. (not shown on map but this area has changed greatly since WWII)

Little Henry Street- off Henry St. (1901 directory says 'a few small houses' with no names)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

thanks very much for all your help,...because we know so little about him,...i think i am best to get my nan's marriage certificate,...and also maybe my fathers birth certificate,...and hope they might tell me a bit more!!
