There is a whisper in the trees at the Taita Cemetery.
« on: Sunday 30 October 11 18:22 GMT (UK) »
A most reliable source has heard a loud whisper in the trees at the Taita Cemetery

"Hutt City Council will be announcing that the long a waited on line search base has been launched for public access."

Watch this space.

Best of luck with your research once the site is "alive".

Hope we do not overload and crash it on day one!!

Regards

Kiskeam

Hi Kiskeam,

Thank you for that. My father-in-laws relations on his Italian side are buried up in the back somewhere in there, that would be good to look at when it's up and running.

Take care

Kind regards

No., Taita Christ's Church not the same but is available as a seperate site.

But looking forward to the Taita Cemetery on line -  many relatives their incliding parents, cousins, aunts, uncles and even still born siblings.

Today I received the following information from the Hutt City administration regarding the database going on line;

"Thank you for your email, we are very excited as we are about to launch this on-line in the very near future.
We have been making this project a priority and as you can understand these sorts of project always come with hiccups along the way, however all going well it is scheduled to be up on our website www.huttcity.govt.nz by mid February 2012."

Whilst researchers may find this delay frustrating an efficient on line database  but should prove to be a welcome resource by many.

Seasons greetings

Kiskeam
