Sorry the will didn't help, GG. Well done for getting it.
It does seem that Ann might have died by 1995, but it is, as you say, a mystery.

Ann had two sisters - Helen Kay Stephens (1934-2024), who married for the first time in 1967 and Angela Kathleen Stephens (1928-1982), who married in 1979. Their mother's married name was Kathleen Maud Stephens (1904-1995).

Anyway, the reason I summarised all of that is because Helen, Angela and Kathleen seem to have all been living at the same address from around 1960 to 1965 - 8 Chepstow Mansions in Kensington (Bayswater?). I've attached one electoral register from 1964.

I haven't seen Ann Stephens hereself in any of these electoral registers, but there also doesn't seem to be any evidence of her working as an actress after 1959 or so, so I was wondering if that's the time period we should be concentrating on - 1959 to 1966. At the moment we don't even know what country she was in, let alone whether or not she was married!

One other minor point - the death of Ann's sister's mother-in-law, Mollie Dorr Sledge, can be found in various sources on ancestry, and they almost all say that she died in London on the 13th May, 1965. In fact it seems that she died in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. I mention this because if Ann is reported dying in a car crash in London, it might not have been in London. US newspapers probably would have put London for anywhere in the UK that wasn't Scotland.

What seems to get forgotten is that Ann had a middle name of Gillian.  Not that that would necessarily make any difference to locating where she went etc.

Just in case anyone else tries to follow up the blind alley that I've just spent a few minutes on - the Ann G Devereux who died in 1968 (death registered in St Pancras) appears to have been born Ann Geraldine Burnett and married someone called Devereux in 1953.

Chepstow Mansions was her reported address in 1951 when she appeared in court on a driving charge. Named as Ann Jillian Stephens.

Edit:  She appears in the registers from 1956 to 1959 and is gone in 1960.

I remember looking at marriage records when this topic was active before and an Ann G. Stephens married a Barry Emmott in 1958, although going by the post earlier tonight about the electoral roll, it appears it wasn't Ann. I also couldn't find any death records for Ann G. Emmott, so it would be really interesting to know where the July 15 1966 date comes from

I looked into that one and it seems that Barry Winston Emmott (born 1932) died in Bishops Stortford in 2013. Someone who looks like she was his wife, Ann Emmott (born 1935), died in Bishops Stortford in 2007. The problem is that this Ann Emmott has the middle names Elizabeth Mary, which doesn't match the "Ann G Stephens" who married Barry W Emmott in 1958.

For those that have ancestry, this seems to be the Ann Stephens who married Barry Emmott in the 1939 register:

I checked the Wikipedia article on Ann Stephens to see when her death date was added and whether the person who added it gave a source for their information.

It happened very early on - the article was created on the 16th December, 2006, and the date of death was added three revisions later on the 14th June, 2007, by a user, since banned, called Ruantengyi:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ann_Stephens&diff=138101446&oldid=99011566

No reason for this date was given. Various people have attempted to remove the unsourced date of death since then, but someone else has always added it back again. The current article uses IMDB as a reliable source and I can't help but think that IMDB probably got their information from the Wikipedia article!
