Did the 1874 death record show him as Sir John Fife?
Was there an obituary for him?

No Obituary,
I'm researching BDM etc, to see if i've stuffed up somewhere, but this article still doesn't seem to make sense with the info i have founded.. lol

John Fyfe born:1880 ~ Married Laura Annie Alice White.
Their Daughter was Jessie Pearl my Great Great Grandmother's Sister.

Yes, but not connected to your John surely
John Fyfe, 78, died on 12 Sep 1874 in Brighton Tasmania. Registration Number: 26
