In my first reply I give a link, the bit beginning http:// and in blue text, this is a link to the original post from 05.

You need to click on the blue text, it will take you to the original 05 post, where you can put your reply. The person who created that original post, who is still active on RootsChat, will get an email like you did for this thread, to say that someone has added to the thread.
