BRADY, James in Manchester - lookup please

Hi all,

I would appreciate if anyone could help me find out more about James Brady, born about 1878/9, and died after less than 2 years of marriage in 1900.

Civil Registration event: Death Name: BRADY, James Registration District: Chorlton County: Lancashire Year of Registration: 1900 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar Age at death: 22 Volume No: 8C Page No: 638.

He married my great aunt, Florence Taylor in 1899 and i would like to find out about him and his family of origin. I do not know where he was born. They didn't have any children, but my great aunt brought up her niece and nephew after his death.

hi,,he married in St Marys church ,Beswick.  If you can get to the city library in Manchester,you could look up the marriage and see who his father was ?

Thank you for this, but it may prove a little difficult to pop in as i am in South Australia.  It's a bit expensive to get a certificate for someone who was only in he family for 2 years, though i would still like to know a bit about the Brady clan.

i realised that minutes later,,i was just trying to amend my post    if you are lucky,,,some kind Mancunian rootschatter may be paying a visit to the library soon and might offer to look up the details on the cert,,,otherwise you would have to order the marriage cert from the GRO.

There is a possible census match in 1891,,but we need the marriage cert or details to confirm.

your in luck,,the marriage details are

james brady age 21  bachelor  a dyer  30,viaduct street   father bernard joseph brady  a dyer

florence taylor age 21 spinster           24, viaduct street  father thomas taylor  a bricklayer

so it looks like the father  Bernard can be found in the censuses,,,he possibly married a mary o connor in 1875  chorlton district.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for looking them up and confirming those details and sending those references for me. I thought it may have been Bernard and Mary, so am glad to know for sure.
