Hi MacGearailt, i've just seen your post being of the same interest that i have. In my case i would like to locate 
information on the members of the regiments that made up the Irish Brigade during 1750 - 1760.
I believe during this time they 'fell under' the French.

Though this 600 page book is very heavy reading and confusing.
What i would like to get are names of the soldiers from the regiments that made up the Irish Brigade.
I really don't know where to start to look.
It appears that some soldiers of these regiments were members of Parfaite Egalite (Perfect Equaility) Freemason Lodge.
Though i don't have any links to prove it.
Advise and help would be greatly appreciated

I far as I am aware Eoghan Ó hannrachain is the foremost scholar of the Irish Brigades. He has written several articles on men in the brigades from a variety of counties in Ireland that were in the Hotel Royal Des Invalides in the 18th century. Many were published in The Irish Sword and others appear in various county historical journals which can be accessed online on JSPOR.
An article that may be of particular interest to you was that on The Régiment de Cavalerie Irlandoise de Fitzjames, which was disbanded by royal decree in 1762, following it's near destruction at the Battle of Rosbach. The article supplies a large list of the officers and their places of retirement as well as a breakdown of the first and last names and nationality of the rank and file. Sorry That was a Typo, should read JSTOR, It's a collection of scholarly journals. As far as I'm aware, it has to be accessed through a Library or university. I modified my reply to include an extra link.

I did a bit of digging and came up with the members of the lodge in 1776. They were D'Arcy, Begg, Keating, Perot, Croly, O'Dunne, Bonnelle, Gallwey, Sarsfield, Master Nugent, Walsh, Chevalier O'Conner, Hemery, Roche and McCarthy. They are described as the Brethren, There's more listed separately. Hope this helps.

Were they all in the Irish Brigade or in any of the regiments that made up the Brigade?
