Woolpack Inn

In 1881 My Great great Uncle
Henry Morgan King
appear to be a wine and spirit merchant at the Woolpack in Keswick.
In 1887 he and his family have emigrated to USA.
In December I intend paying a visit to Whitehaven archives and was hoping to pay a visit to the Woolpack Inn but there appears to be some confusion as I seem to be picking up info on the internet on what appears to be several Woolpack Inns in the area.
Can anyone help?

looking at the Enumerator's page, the address for Schedule 68 (Woolpack Inn) is 'Main Street', Keswick, next to the 'Woolpack Yard'.
Hopefully theres only one in Keswick's Main Street?

Thanks folks for the info.
It was causing a bit of a problem and even the visit Cumbria folk could not indentify it and suggested it was in Kendal.
Hoping it's not some fast food establishment like the one in Kendal.

Even if it is a fast food place try looking above street level!
Many old buildings have only been modified at street level - above that, a lot of the original features remain.
There are also sites with old pictures of buildings. A few hours googling could produce all sorts of interesting things

It looks like a shop for "Outdoor Wear" if you look at the link I posted.
I think Keswick probably has more of those than fast food outlets.

Hi Geoff
Hadn't looked at your link when I made my post! The building certainly looks old and only the shop front seems to have been modernised. Though what has been done inside is anybody's guess

Hi Geoff-E
had a look at your link and indeed it's an outdoor pursuits shop. Bang goes the idea of having a pint in my ancestors pub.

Hi, just came across this by accident due to me doing a search on The Woolpack in Keswick.
When I was young(During late 1970's early 80's) I used to frequent Keswick quite a lot and one of my favourite pubs was The Woolpack.
I do not know when it closed but I can confirm the building is occupied now by Rathbones which is an outdoor pursuits shop.
Was only in there last week.
