help with address on census

hey everyone

i have found my 4x great grandmother on the 1851 and 1861 census on ancestry

was hopeing for some help with addresses.....

1851 census - the address is down as "corsemill mar hurlet"

1861 census - the address is down as "waterside number3", civil parish "abbey landward.

can anyone shed any light on this?

Can you please give us the census reference or the name and age of the person so we can look at the original please?

on the 1851 scottish census, her name is down as

Elis leitch, and her age is 46
roll number - CSSCT1851_126

on the 1861 census, her name is

eliz leitch, and her age is 56
roll number CSSCT1861_74

Hi

Your best option would be to download the images from Scotlandspeople, as far as Ancestrys transcriptions are concerned someone with local knowledge might be able to interpret them for you but the originals would be your best det.

Abbey Landward was a district in the SE corner of the parish part of the q. sacra parish of Levern.

Waterside #3 probably denotes a tenement.

For the exact location download the original census from SP and read the Header which will give the exact boundaries of the census that was taken.

The 1851 address you listed is just a placename but what Parish was it.

I think the address you are after may lie along the road that runs from the Hurlet restaurant towards barhead which passes the Waterside Restaurant.
