Can anyone find my great-aunt in 1911?
« on: Saturday 22 October 11 16:37 BST (UK) »
I'm hoping someone is a better detective than me and can help me locate my great-aunt on the 1911 England census, as I am having no luck.

Her name was Gladys Ethel Dean and she was born on 29 September 1906 in Cambridge. Her baptism was on 19 December 1906 and states: Gladys Ethel Harper, daughter of Ethel Alice Harper of 92 Russell Street (single woman). Her parents, Ethel Alice Harper and Albert Herbert George Dean had married the previous month on 4 November 1906, but as she was born illegitimately I guess that is why she was baptised with her mother's maiden name. Her birth was registered as Gladys Ethel Dean in Q4 1906 in Cambridge.

Gladys died around 18 July 1912 in Cambridge and her burial record states Gladys Ethel Harper of 7 Russell Street, aged 5. Her death was registered in Q3 1912 in Cambridge as Gladys E Dean, aged 5.

I have located her parents on the 1911 census living at 15 Russell Street, Cambridge (household consists of Herbert Dean aged 25, Ethel Dean aged 23 and Herbert's cousin, Albert Dean). They state there has been 2 children born to the marriage, 1 of which is still living (Gladys). The other child died an infant. However, Gladys is not listed and I cannot find her anywhere else.

Any help/ suggestions much appreciated.

Tara

I'm sorry but 1911 census requests are not allowed - please see here:

The index is free to search and there are lots of suggestions on this thread:
