Markey or Marky
« on: Saturday 22 October 11 16:02 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone find a marriage between Burke and Markey and then Markey and Sterio please. Mr Burke is believed to have died during WW1 and his widow remarried James Sterio maybe in Dublin.
Thanks
Poppy

Hi Poppy,

1916 1st quarter Vol 2 pg 647 Dubin South has these people in the spouses:

Elizabeth Burke
James Sterio

so a possibility there

I can't see a Burke/Markey marriage though.

regards
heywood

Thank you so much. My Mum in law was  a Sterio and she had a half sister called Burke and when I looked up
Margarets birth record it gave her Mothers maiden name as Markey  but just realised when she remarried she was Burke, I'm confusing myself now lol.

Sorry to say, I don't understand that   ;)

Do you have Mrs Burke/Sterio's first name? Or is she Margaret?

Ok here goes... Elizabeth Burke was a widow when she married James Sterio. Elizabeth already had a daughter called Margaret May Burke dob 19 .9 .1911 when I looked up her birth record it gave her mothers maiden name as Markey so I've been trying to find the Markey Burke link too, sorry to have confused you.

Poppy

Hi Poppy,

Do you know what Mr Burke's name was ?

Are him and Elizabeth on the 1911 census ?

Are you positive that you have the correct birth cert for Margaret May Burke - do all the other details on the cert match up ?
