Hi, I am hoping that are are able to help me. I have tried to find out information about my great grandfathers war record/Regiment. But I have had no success. He Lived 318 Oldham Road, Manchester and his name was John Slater. Many Thanks Tracey

Hi Tracey,
I wonder if it would be a good idea to ask one of the moderators to move your post to the armed forces board as there are people on there who specialise in the military.
Just click on Sarah or JDGen (next to Lancashire Lookup Requests above and send one of them a personal message).
To help others searching I think John Slater was born in 1888 in York and his parents were Joseph and Ada.

Please can you give his year of birth, occupation at the time of service and was he married if so please give wife's name? There are rather a lot of John Slaters!
