« on: Friday 21 October 11 07:46 BST (UK) »
does anyone have access to the Edith Weston Parish Registers.
I'm looking for an ANN NUTT who married a Stanger  between 1816 and 1841.

Any help would be gretaly appreciated.

Many Thanks   Ken Stanger

Big window; What makes you believe she wed someone of that surname?

Records don't appear to be transcribed online, but IF she did wed in the latter half of your window, as as a widow, how would you know it was her?

Pauline

Hello Pauline,
Thanks for your reply.  All I had to go on was the 1851 census . Edith Weston

William Thomas Nutt Head 39 plumber born EW
Adelaide Nutt wife marr 41 b. EW
William S.Nutt son 12 b EW
George James Nutt son 10 b EW
Ann Stanger  mother widow 74 formerly farmers wife b. Liddington Rutland

I thought ,is she the mother of Adelaide or William .
Well Adelaide Walden Low was born to a Mary Low illegitimate 1808.
Stanger was a rare name in Edith Weston. Well an Ann Freeman married Thomas Nutt and they had one child William Thomas Nutt bpt 11 AUG 1811 Edith Weston. Father Thomas died 14 JUN 1816 Edith Weston.
Then on the 1841 census  I find an Ann Stanger claiming to be the mother of William Thomas Nutt age 39.
I had no choice but think this is her (Ann Nutt) who had since her husband Thomas Nutt had died in 1816 had remarried a Stanger who also died before 1851.

Hope it make sense

regards Ken Stanger
