Hello and a warm welcome to Rootschat.   Is there a particular family you are interested in? or a time period ? Many of us will be pleased to help if we can if you could offer a little more information about what  (or who) you are looking for.

Hi Ronc

Welcome aboard.

Which of John's daughters is your partner descended from? I've been researching these Chilcotts for 20 years and have a lot to share. They travelled with my Smith family in East Anglia and intermarried with them.

Look forward to hearing more.

Best wishes

Hi To all of you out there. We are trying to find out where  the Chilcott's originated from. We know they where in the norwich area but did they or any of them come from any other parts of the country.
My partner Rose Chilcott's family tree shows that there were Travellers and Hawkers etc.  during the 1800's and probilly before that in Somerset and Dorset, plus a few other places. The question is is there a link. Other names linked to them are Grey, Smith, Lovell, Cole etc..
We have seen george Barrows blog and gypsy jib thanks.
What do you think?

Hi Ronc  Having read Sharons post  I would say she is probably in the best position to help you as she has been researching the family for a number of years. Have you had a look at Free Reg ? I had a quick look.. there are 883 baptisms and 524 marriages listed in Somerset! Seems they are a large family!

I will bow out of the post as I do not know the family and I'm certain that Sharon will be much better placed, as I said earlier, to help you

Good luck with your research

Hi BeckyJL

Can you give us the first name of your grandmother, please? That will help in our searches. Thanks.
