Hi,
I would like to find out when my husbands family died or moved away.
In 1940 my husbands Grandparents Herbert & Elizabeth Payne were living at 2 Palmerston Place, Dublin (Inns Quay)

I know this, as this is the only year being shown on-line on dublinheritage.ie. It is also the same address listed for his mothers baptism.

I have managed to find out that Herbert & Elizabeth had 4 children: * b. 1932, * b. 1934, * b. 1935 & *. b. 1937.

The Payne Family were still there in 1965 when my Husbands' father went to visit the family. As a baby my husband was moved to Trinidad and was given up by his mother.

I was told Herbert Payne died 17 April 1957 & Elizabeth Payne died 11 July 1985. This information needs to be confirmed and to find out who else was living there?

I am trying to find out what happened to the family and if possible find them.
Can anybody help?

RootsChat isn't a forum for tracing living people so if anyone can provide recent details they'll have to send details by PM (Personal Message) rather than posting on this thread.

Please be careful not to mention any details on people who may still be living as this is not permitted on RootsChat (details removed above).

(Note that three posts are required for the PM system to activate for new members - http://rootschat.com/help/pms.php)

I was told Herbert Payne died 17 April 1957 & Elizabeth Payne died 11 July 1985. This information needs to be confirmed...
.....

The online BMD Index covers up to 1958 and shows a death that might fit for Herbert :

  Name: Albert H Payne
  Registration district:   Dublin North
  Event type: Death
  Quarter and year: Apr-Jun 1957
Age: 60  (est. year of birth 1897)
  Volume: 2 / Page: 243

A death would show the details - see :

   Introduction to Irish Records

   Ordering Certs from GRO Roscommon

Details included on a Death Cert

Hi, Thank you for your messages.

Nobody lives at that address anymore. The house is being sold and the last occupier passed away in 2009.

I have sent messages to the neighbouring houses and it seems the Payne family and descendants have moved out of the area.

I was hoping someone could look up the address to findout who Colonel Payne was? As he was living with Elizabeth at the time my husbands father visited in 1965 and to confirm Herbert was missing from the address during 1957 and Elizabeth during 1985, and to see if any of their children had lived with them.

I just would like to check the details I have with the electoral rolls, to see that I have the right details. I would do this myself if I was able to go to Dublin.

I would be smiling for a week if I could findout what is listed in the Electoral Register.

Glasnevin cemetery has a burial record which matches the death index record I mentioned above - Albert Payne, age 60, died 1957. Using the address search with Palmerston gives a possible match.

There's also a match for an Elizabeth Payne in 1985 with an address of Dublin 20. This district is just to the West of the city. (Palmerston Place is Dublin 7)

It might be worth checking out..
