Richard Crackle/Eleanor Barnard
« on: Monday 17 October 11 23:30 BST (UK) »
Many thanks to the people who helped me in my search for Sampson Crackle's parents - it's been brilliant as it's enabled me to get further back in my tree and add a chunk of names. I've now got back to Richard Crackle born 1710 who married Eleanor Barnard in 1734 at Belton but can't move back from there. Can anyone help please?

Hi Meezer,

I have seen your posts relating to the Crackle Family.

Naomi / Naomy Crackle born in Belton in 1777 was my 4 x Great Grandmother

Her father was Richard Crackle and her Mother Ann Rose

Richards Father was Richard Crackle and his mother Eleanor Barnard.

After this it is a little more uncertain, I noticed there are the Messingham Crackles and also some in Owston Ferry that could be Richards Parents, I wonder if there are any Wills for the family that would help point us in the right direction ?

I haven't looked in detail at this family for a while, but will have another look and see if I can get back on the right line !

My branch of the family haven't moved far in 300 years we are about 15 miles away from Belton !!

I'm sure you know about http://www.freereg.org.uk/search/index.htm and lincstothepast ?

Regards,

Sam.

I think that makes us distant cousins Sam! My line goes via Richard and Eleanor's son John who married Mary Woolas. I've sent you a PM and would be very interested in swopping information if you would like?

I haven't found the family fortune down our line - wonder if your lot got it?!  ;)
