There's a marriage in 1891 (Dec quarter) with John Meredith and Mary Jane Watts on the same page
Newport (Mon) volume 11a page 339

Do you have any other information about the family, e.g. children's names, place and date of birth, etc

Modified - I see them in 1901. This marriage fits (in time) for the birth of Edward John Meredith in 1892 (Apr-Jun quarter)

Hi Debs 

A birth certificate will confirm Mother's maiden name, and therefore the 1891 marriage I suggested. Or you could send for the marriage certificate, with a proviso that the Groom's Father is Richard Meredith.
