Rather than waste efforts on wrong lines and duplicating information, can you tell us which particular items you are missing.

Hi Pussycat, I have some details on the Bridle family which may be what you are looking for. I have Eli Bridle born 1789 in Whitchurch Canonicoram Dorset his parents were Edward Bridle & Dinah Russell.Emanual was born in 1828 in Halstock his parents were William Bridle & Elizabeth Hill. They also had a William born 1833 also in Halstock.I realise there are a lot of Bridles in Dorset so this may not be who you want.
However I am interested in the fact that you called them Travellers - do you mean as in Gypsies or Romany's.My husband is doing a presentation on Gypsies for our local U3A group and it would be very interesting if it turns out he has Romany blood.

Hi,

I realise this is an old thread, but hoping this gets through....

I am descended from Eli BRIDLE and Matilda SPURDLE (CLEAL) through their son Emmanuel.

They ended up in Swindon, Wiltshire in the 1860s onwards, and come from Dorset (Halstock, etc)

They were travellers / Irish travellers.

Cheers

Darren.
