Return to the UK - Can you help ??
« on: Sunday 16 October 11 20:39 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am looking for the date of when my Great Grandparents and my Grandfather returned to the Uk after a short stay in the U.S. Their names were Francis Joseph Hyett, Emma Hyett and their son Francis Thomas Hyett who was born in Philadelphia in 1908. They had another son who was born in London in 1911 so they must have returned in the 3 years inbetween.
Can anyone help as I've tried but have been unsuccesful so far.
Thank you.

Hi

I have found this record UK Incoming Passenger Lists 1878-1960

Francis Hyatt
Port of Departure: New York, New York, United States
Arrival Date: 24 May 1909
Port of Arrival: London, England
Ship Name: Minnewaska
Shipping Line: Atlantic Transport Line

It does not give very much detail on this record, also on the same page is a George and Helen Hyatt???

Hi MargP.
Thanks again. The 1909 date fits in nicely. Was he travelling alone ? and was it spelt Hyatt or Hyett ?. The Hyatt name is more common than Hyett. As for birthdates Francis Joseph Hyett was born on 12/2/1873 and Emma Hyett ws born on 11/5/1869.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

All the best.
Richard.

Hi Richard

I don't think that the record I found for Francis is him, after taking another look, he is not ticked as a child under 12 years

I have been on this, on and off for most of the day, but have had no luck, I have found Francis J Hyett going out and Emma Pettet, I assume that you have those records, there is a tree on Ancestry that is where I have got the additional information about Emma.

Hi again.

Thank you for your time and effort. It is a shame it was not a link. You mentioned a tree with info about Emma on Ancestry, what was this ?

Hi Richard

The user name for the tree is ghostrider1968 and the tree name is the Hunt Family Tree
it does not look like they are direct descendants, but they have detailed information ie DOB but no emigration details

Margp

Edit All the family is also on the tree

Hiya.
Yes I know Ian Hunt, he has added my info to his tree. Thanks again for what youve done for me. It shows that it will not straight forward to crack the mystery of the Hyett family.
All the best
Richard.
