WW 2 Egypt

Hi All
My grandad, George Oliver Baldwin, served in Egypt during WW2. All I know is that he lost his hearing because he manned big guns.
Any thoughts before I pay £30 to National Archives, greatly welcomed.

I got my Dad's records from the National Archives and was pleased I did it. Whilst I knew a lot of stuff already it was fascinating to go through the rest of it. Once you know which unit he served in etc you can read the history books in a new light. I have been in correpsondence with a veteran and posted his memoirs on my Dad's web site at

- the chap was in Egypt amongst other action, as was my Dad.

Many thanks for replying to my question. We are in the process of applying for my grandad's war record. So will come back to you when we have more information.
Regards
Sue
