It has been suggested that Robert's place of birth is Mousen:

Quote from Janis:
Mousen is in Bamburgh parish but in the chapelry of Lucker

Have you checked for the baptism in the Parish Records on Familysearch?

Do you have the actual certificate?  It should show his father's name

Hi Liddell

I think these could be your parents you are looking for.

There are a few Robert Liddells born in Northumberland but if
you are sure it was 1793 this is the only one living near to
Mousen.

Robert Liddell married Sarah Elliot at Embleton on 30th April 1786

Embleton is 9 miles from  Bamburgh parish.

I did find a Robert Liddell who died in April 1793 which was 3
months after his son Robert was born.  It states he was a Officer
in the Navy. His burial was further down the coast at Bishopwearmouth.
Dont know if this was the Robert who married Sarah?

Also found a George Liddell married Ann Young at Embleton on
9th Oct 1786, this could be Roberts brother.

I have looked for Liddells before and just to let you know that sometimes
the name is transcribed as Little!!

You mention you have the births of Roberts children and wifes name.
Could we share them as it does help knowing all the information
when searching such old records, Thank you

Going by the information on the other thread (quoted by Ruskie) he married well before 1837, so it's unlikely the marriage register would show his father's name.

Hi Liddell

Thanks for the births etc, looks like I found the right Grandparents
Robert and Sarah. Just wondered if the Navy Robert was this one
but unfortunately it doesnt give his age which is a shame.
Hope you continue on
