From how I read ,it seems as if it will some form of looking around at the new lay out, there are refreshments so it seems an informal get together, but reseching will be allowed on that day---Normal openings for researching start on the Monday

Well done Lancashire Record Office, I've just spent a very informative hour there.  The new layout looks much improved, with better lighting.  You now don't need a readers ticket to view microfiche and microfilm records, it is open to anyone.  The conducted tour of the strongroom was interesting, so was the box making room. I'm looking forward to Monday when it opens properly
