George Allen / Allan Ireland
« on: Thursday 13 October 11 22:07 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace through my family tree and have got stuck with a distant relative who it seems was from Ireland.
I have traced George Allen / Allan through UK census to living in Stockton in England through the lat 1800's but is listed as been born in Ireland.
I believe he was born as early as 1811 and worked as a Blacksmith.
He was twice married firstly to Helen (1816-1858) with whom he had a number of children including twins (David and Edward in 1846) - these children are also listed as been born in Ireland.
Helen then died and re remarried Mary Jane Main.  He died in 1895 - believe it could have been 28th July 1895.
Only other bit of info I have is his father was possible called John and a farmer.
I am happy to do some digging just struggling a bit with this Irish link

Unfortunately the dates you mention are long before the start of civil registration in Ireland (1864 for births, deaths and Catholic marriages, non-Catholic marriages from 1845).

Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start?.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
