McDonnell - John Street West - Francis Street - 1911

Hi, looking for anything on McDonnell married into Mc Gregors (White Friar Street), flower sellers 1928, also before that, McDonnell and Bridget Mc Grath - Walls Lane off Francis Street and Johns Street West.

Trying to find the pattern as why most boys were either Alexander or Thomas down the years, particularly Alexander (several generations)

Have you looked for a birth certificate for them? They appear to be married in 1892.

You have to be pretty patient with it due to transcription errors..entries being written in Latin, spelling variants etc. but if you can work your way through it it's a useful free site.

Does anybody now where Church Place was/is in Rathmines, I cannot find it on map??

Church place was between Rathmines Road Upr and Castlewood Park

see :  Church Place, Rathmines  (see the c1890 25" Historic map)

Church Gardens now seems to be at exactly the same location - maybe the name changed ?
