Hi Anne,

Worked out that your Sarah Chester should be Elizabeth Chester married as above in 1832 to William Pacey.  The Richard Gilbert who is witness on the marriage may be his uncle.

William Pacey was christened as William Pacy on 4 May 1811 East Stoke son of Thomas & Sarah Pacy.

Thomas Pacey (Pacy) & Sarah Gilbert were married 6 Jan 1810 by Licence East Stoke.

Sarah Gilbert was born 22 May 1789 christened 23 May 1789 daughter of William & Sarah Gilbert at East Stoke.
Other Children of William & Sarah Gilbert:
William born & Christened on 28 Dec 1786
Richard born & christened on 25 June 1791
John born & Christened 23 Jan 1793
Samuel born 23 Nov 1796 born 24 Nov 1796.

Thomas Pacey (Pacy) born & Christened 26 June 1780 son of William & Alice Pacy.

Still cannot find a christening for your original question of William Robert Pacey 1837.

Hi,

Thank you SO much!    It is all starting to tie up.  My grandfather was
named John Thomas,  elder brother William.

I don't know who came to Australia with WR.  He lived in Castlemaine,
Victoria, and there are a lot of Pacey's in that area.  I haven't been able
to establish a connection to any of the other families.

Thank you again, I am very grateful!
I would put a smiley face on but haven't worked out how yet!

Anne

Hi Anne

It doesn't look like William went to Australia with his parents as it looks like they both died young

East Stoke Burials

William Pacey buried 20.11. 1838 aged 27 (fits with the baptism 4.5.1811)
Elizabeth Pacey buried 8.8. 1836 aged 28

So if this is the right family, where was William in 1841?

hi Everyone,

Going back to William Robert Pacey Anne has told me that she now thinks he was born 1834/35 according to his age on his marriage, so not found a christening for him and I went back to 1832 but found those

15 Feb 1835 Robert Gilbert Pacy son of William a Farmer and Elizabeth
20 April 1836 Anne Frances daughter of William and Elizabeth

I wonder if William change his name from Robert Gilbert to William Robert.

Can someone look those up on census please.
