Help required - please !
« on: Wednesday 12 October 11 21:53 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone, I'm after a bit of help.  I have just started to research my family history and have become stuck !  I'm trying to find out about my great grandfather George Pease.

George Pease was born abt 1881 in London, married Lucy Jocelyn in 1907 and died abt 1932.
Somewere in between they moved from London to Leigh on sea.  He was a french polisher and use to travel up to London every day and enjoyed his drink ! So much so that he got run over outside Leigh Elms pub and ended up in hopstial and later died in there. Between them they had 7 children including my nan, but they have mostly passed on now and no one else in the family knows much !!

I had a few ideas on trying to trace him, as he was run over I wondered if this would have been listed in the local paper, but i have no idea as to what paper was around in the 1930's.  He also work wise, worked in London, a french polisher, a trade of sorts, is there any way i can find him though his employment.

I also cannot tell if he had any other siblings nor the names of his parents

I would be really grateful if anyone can give me any tips, thanks for reading, Tina x

Hi Tina, George is quite easy to follow through the 1851/1881 census, so I will leave you to it, but as far as his marriage to Hannah is concerned and his parents, then:-

Marriage George Pease to Hannah Woolhead Sept qtr 1864 Leighton Buzzard 3b 657
His parents are John and Jane, whose marriage appears to be:-

John Pease to Jane Faulkner 30th July 1832 Wing Bucks.

When you come to research Hannah Woolhead, it is possible she is the daughter of the unmarried Jane Woolhead on the 1851/61 Census returns.
Enjoy your research, and any help just shout ok!
