Marriage hard to find
« on: Wednesday 12 October 11 13:43 BST (UK) »
Hello

I have been looking for the marriage between a Mary Norman and a Francis Curran.  Their first child was born approx 1873, so their marriage may have been around this time, however I can't find them.  I wonder if somebody could do a search for me please, as I am going googley eyed.

Many thanks for your help in anticipation.

Kind regards

G

Thank you for your help.  Here is the information I have on them.

Mary Norman born 1851 and Francis Curran born 1849.  They are my Great, Great Grandparents.  They had 4 children (that I have found), William born 1873 born at 76 Gerard Street (possible 1st born).  Francis Curran was a Corn Porter.

Hope this further in helps.

Kind regards.

Please accept my apologies I meant a marriage between Mary Norman and William Curran, not Francis.  I think the marriage you found may be the correct one.  Will take a look and let you know.  Once again many thanks for all of your help.

Kind regards.

Hello everybody

I am a bit confused now.  As I said in my original query, I am looking for the marriage of Francis Curran and Mary Norman, which I then changed to William Curran and Mary Norman after their marriage was kindly found for me.  However on checking his sons marriage certificate, he has his father down and Francis and not William, so what am I missing??  I know his mum was Mary Norman because I have his birth certificate, but I don't understand the name discrepancy.  Do you think his name could have been William Francis or Francis William??  Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

G

Very confusing. ???
I have a similar problem.
The father's christian name varies from birth certificate to birth certificate
and then marriage certificate.

I've just about given up trying to sort it out. :'(
At least the surname stays consistent and there aren't any brothers to confuse the issue. Hope you manage to solve yours!

Hello Olly

Yes, I am baffled, because also on his birth certificate his father is named as William, so why say it is Francis when he got married??  Will try to see if I can find a birth of a William Francis or a Francis William.

I might like yourself have to give up ??? and go over all of my certificates to make sure I have my facts right.

Thanks

G
