I have just discovered my ggg grand parents where from Newry.  They were James Cummings 1834 and his wife Ann 1832.  I found them on the 1871 census living in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.  I don't know if they married in Ireland or England, all their children where born in England.
Any info;, births, marriage ect. would be great.

yours hopefully

Civil registration of birth, deaths and Catholic marriages began 1864 (from 1845 for non-Catholic marriages) so for earlier records it's a matter of checking if any church records survive for the period you need.
English birth certificates will list the mother's maiden name.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
