Sophia Frewen (again)

On the Irish Geneologist I have found a baptism for Sophia Frewen on 9th August 1823. It says it was at St Mary PRO Cathedral Dublin RC.
The year fits in with the date I have for my Sophia Frewen, for her birth, on the English Census, and her fathers name at the baptism is Thomas, the same as on her marriage certificate in 1847  in Dublin to an Englishman George Chipperfield.

I am hoping I have found my Sophia, but my question is was she baptised Roman Catholic and if so could she have married in a different church

You've several threads about Sophia Frewen on the Dublin board. This one says she was married in a Catholic church so not sure why you now think it strange she was baptised Catholic-

I apologise that I have not made myself very clear. Sophia was married in St Marys Anglican Church and I could not understand if she was baptised in a Catholic Church.

Yet previously you said "The church was Catholic"  :-\

If it was a mixed marriage it could have taken place in an Anglican church or the Registry Office.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Yes I can see that now. That was before I was told that it was Anglican and also got the marriage certificate.
At the beginning I had never researched Irish relatives as I did not know I had any. If I had known I could have gone to all these places but age is against me now.
I am sorry if my mistakes have caused any problems

Hi Golden Oldie,

Yes it looks like Sophia was baptised as RC, but she married George Chipperfield, who was presumably  Anglican. We also find from this record that her  mother's first name was Mary. The sponsors were William Frewen and Ellen Frewen. This is the Ellen that goes on to marry James Henry Mayfield. Still don't kwow her relationship to Thomas Frewen or Sophia Frewen though.

Thank you very much for your reply. I seem to be getting there very slowly but it does not matter. This is another piece to add. If I find anything regarding Ellen I will let you know.
