Ellen Hannah Sharples , habergham eaves, Lancashire

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find information on my great grand aunt Ellen Hannah Sharples (possibly known as Nellie). She was born on the 1 July 1886 in Habergham Eaves, Lancashire to Robert Edward Sharples (1859-?) and Sarah Ann Robinson. Had a brother George Edward Sharples (my great grandfather). I can find her up until the 1901 census- and from there the details are sketchy.

It is possible she may have married a Albert Mosford @ Salford Lancashire in 1914. Albert died in France in 1917 (during the great war). He was a private in the manchester regiment.

I also have a record for an Ivy Mosford born in early 1917, whose parents are listed as Ellen and Albert Mosford.

I feel like im on the right track, however i have hit a brick wall and cannot find Ellen or Ivy after 1917.

If anyone has any information I would be extremely grateful.

Seems you need the marriage cert of Ellen H Sharples to ALbert Mosford
That will confirm if you are on the right track or not, as you can see what father's name is given.
Then you will know if this Mosford line is worth pursuing or if it is a red herring.

Hi,

If you do find it is the correct marriage to Albert Mosford then www.lancashirebmd.org.uk shows the marriage of an Ellen Hannah Mosford/Sharples to a Charles Norman Frost in 1920.

Using the free index on www.ancestorsonboard.com it looks like the family including Ivy Mosford sailed to Sydney Australia in 1927.
