Dear Lou, William Henry Ley is my biological GGrandfather, Born 1855 Hotham Victoria, Died Richmond Victoria 1890. Wife Elizabeth Morton Johnston Born Hotham. Married 1879.  Henry Gould Ley is listed as his father and Amelia Waring as his mother. I had not gone any further into the Ley family. Anything you find out would be of interest to me. William Henry died from the results of lung problems as he was a printer. I think he was associated with the Richmond Guardian. His wife remarried some years later to George Whitehurst, who carried on the busines.

Dear Lou, Many thanks for the information some of which I did not know, have been to the library today and found the first William Henry born 1855, father Henry Gould, mother Amelia Waring, other children Arthur Augustus born 1859, and Amelia Jane 1859. Then there are the ones I know about. Found death of Henry Gould 1887, West Melbourne, father Jno, mother Nancy Britten.  Could not find a marriage for William Henry to Amelia Waring, so will have to look to see if I can find when they arrived here .But once again thank you it has certainly been an experience to find something I knew nothing about.
Regards Finnbaker.

Dear Lou,Many many thanks, would not have found this for a long time. Henry Gould Ley's death in 1887 in West Melbourne shows John as his father and Nance Britten as his mother. Now I know they appear to have come from England and I will search the passanger arrivals. Many thanks. Jan (Finnbaker)

Dear Lou, You might be able to help, I have tried all the shipping records for Henry Gould and Amelia, but have not had any luck with finding when they came to Australia. Could you please suggest where I might look.
Thanks (Jan) Finnbaker.
