Emmigration?
« on: Sunday 09 October 11 21:17 BST (UK) »
Hi anyone, my surname is Ellis and i have traced my family in Shropshire back to about 1750, i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge as to wether or not there was a period when Welsh moved to England or if it was a general "trickle" over several years?

It could well be that there is no easy and straightforward answer to your query. It largely depends what part of Shropshire you are referring to?The actual border has been quite fluid over the years!

At the moment we are talking East Shropshire, the area around modern day Telford
