Market Drayton, Shropshire Lookup

Hi, I am trying to find the baptism record of Peter Woodnorth (Woodnoth) born about 1817 in Market Drayton, son of John and possibly Frances (she died and was immediately replaced by an Elizabeth).  Can't find a baptism record for Peter b 1817ish from Ancestry or Family Search, nor from WolverhamptonHistory.com.  Any other place I can look?  Or can you help?  Thanks.

William Woodnorth, 26 Feb 1820, Market Drayton, bap. Parents John & Fanny. Source: IGI.

There are variations on Woodnorth in Market Draton as you suggest, including Woodnouth.

Hi, I am doing a one-name study on the WOODNUTT name and think that WOODNOTH could be a variation.  I have quite a few WOODNOTH's in my database but no Peter or John in the time frame you are looking for.

I rechecked Peter's possible origins, not a lot has changed, indications from the 1851 census suggest that he was born in Shropshire, possibly about 1819 and possibly lived in Staffordshire, hence Anita's mention of Wolverhampton. It is looking likely that a visit to the SRO to check the Market Drayton register is required. This thread is 9 months old now and Anita may have made further progress.

I suspect Woodnoth is a variant of Woodnutt and possibly even Woodnouth as I mentioned in my earlier post, but not necessarily for the right reasons... I wonder how often enumeration errors impact on names, notwithstanding dialect, phonetic and spelling ability of individuals. It does however, make the subject extremely fascinating and bordering on addictive for some of us.

It was a long shot - but I try and follow up on as many links to the WOODNUTT name and its variations as I can as I am slowly building up my database of names - got quite a few thousand already
